About AFFNO
Founded in June 2000, the Association of Francophones and Francophiles of the Northwest (AFFNO) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the French language, francophone culture, and francophile heritage throughout Northwestern British Columbia. Active in the communities of Prince Rupert, Terrace, Kitimat, Smithers, and surrounding areas, the association brings together francophones, francophiles, families, newcomers, and friends of French culture in a spirit of openness and inclusion.

Our History
For more than twenty years, AFFNO has played a central role in the cultural vitality of the region. The association quickly gained recognition through flagship events such as the Sugar Shack Festival, the National Holiday/St-Jean celebrations, performances, artistic workshops, school activities, and community projects. Over the years, AFFNO has become an essential partner for local institutions, French immersion schools, and municipalities.
